So happy to finally share this project created during my Mentorship term at Think Tank Training Centre.
This project was inspired by Anatoly Ropaev’s “Pir Feast.” My main goal was to recreate the mood, composition, and atmosphere of the concept as faithfully as possible in 3D while working specifically for this camera angle.

One of the areas where I wanted to expand on the concept was the giant statue(sculpture) itself. Inspired by one of Anatoly’s earlier interpretations where they wanted the sculpture to be wooden, I decided to build on that idea and design it as though it had been carved directly out of a massive tree. This project also gave me the opportunity to push myself toward a more VFX-oriented workflow.
.
Throughout the process, I learned a lot about integrating different workflows and techniques, including modifying Quixel Megascans assets to better fit the needs of the scene rather than relying on them directly as-is. I also explored compositing workflows using render layers and AOVs to give myself greater flexibility during the final look development stage.
.
This project would not have been possible without my mentor Jon Catapia. A huge thank you to him for all the guidance he gave me throughout this mentorship. He completely changed the way I approach projects and problem-solving, especially in understanding the purpose and context behind every asset in a scene and how each decision contributes to the storytelling and overall feeling of the scene.

And another big thanks to Idean for helping me with rendering support and always being there for any tech issues!
Also incredibly grateful to all the global mentors, friends, and staff at Think Tank for the support throughout this journey and especially thankful to my family.
